About FoRT
FoRT was founded in 2007 as part of the Haliburton County Community Co-operative to bring a sense of community to an abandoned railway line, converted to a recreational trail.
HCRT Rail Trail Map
Here’s a map of Haliburton County Rail Trail (HCRT) originally designed by FoRT to complement the Sunday Rambles in 2010. It still serves as an unofficial visitor’s map.
Note: The County of Haliburton owns and operates the HCRT. FoRT has been on the sidelines since 2007 providing public programming “connecting community and rail trail” locally – while researching rails-to-trails best practices elsewhere.
